    Customer challenge

ISS was constructing a workplace with a difference. When the global facilities management company was refurbishing its head office, it wanted to have an immediate impact on visitors and clients. Replacing its often-ignored video screens with luminous panels was a bright idea.

    The right lighting

Creating the right impression was paramount to ISS. In particular, it wanted to show what the company stands for in its ‘university’ room, which functions as a learning and meeting area. However, feedback from people who visited the office showed that the existing video setup there was largely ignored. Looking for a modern solution, ISS discussed office lighting possibilities with Philips.

Luminous textile squares were the answer. Their unique color-changing properties meant they could fill the walls of the university room with stimulating visual effects. Using pre-programmed light scenarios, the walls can now display the silhouettes of workers engaged in services that ISS offers. Not only are the light animations fun to watch, but they create a unique atmosphere and remind clients of what’s on offer.

To provide further ambience in the university, iColor Cove QLX linear luminaires, light strips and Fugato RGB downlights were installed. These color changing fixtures can be instantly altered, creating the perfect ambience for learning and conversing. With soft diffused light coming from the panels, and high quality light filling the room, the ISS University now makes a flawless first impression.

“As first-class service providers ourselves, we recognize good service when we experience it, and Philips definitely delivered the goods”
